The Head of School gave some opening remarks and I'm paraphrasing here, but this really stuck with me:
In the thirteen years of my primary and secondary education I studied hard. I learned many things. But today, my 10th grade son can pull up any piece from the sum total of my 13 years of education on his cell phone! In about two seconds!
Today we educate your children, not to memorize things, but to become sophisticated thinkers. We don't hand them facts. We encourage them to develop their own minds.
Doesn't that sound wonderful?
