Where a kid can be a kid

We had special plans today to take E's friend S out with us for the day in honor of his birthday. When the original plans fell through, we scrambled for another idea that would be just as special. For a few months E has been asking to go to Chuck E. Cheese. She told us that S had told her all about it. We had not been enthusiastic to fulfill that request but in order to make S's birthday day with us an exciting one we thought today was a good day to do so. We cleared the idea with S's mom.

"Well, it's okay with me but I just think it's so funny that S is the one who got E so excited about going there, because he's only been there once and that's when he was really little."

We've been suckered, somehow.

The schemers walking in.

E and her guest of honor had a great afternoon. They ate pizza and played games and laughed themselves silly.

I do believe, however, that the tagalong might actually have had the most fun of all. She loved watching the big kids play the arcade games. And so it should have been no surprise that after I lost track of L for a minute, I found her playing Skeeball all by herself.

Don't tell the big kids (or the management), but she walked away with the highest score.

(Happy birthday, S.) Pin It

Oh gosh- Chuck E. Cheese makes me cringe. But the kids sure do love it, don't they? I'm sure we'll "enjoy" a future birthday or two at Chuck's :D

P.S. That L's got moxie!
