(Not so) still life with provisions

Composition on wheels

This is what three lunch bags hanging from a stroller hook bouncing along the sidewalk into daycare looks like.

Not pictured: the baby inside the stroller (4 bottles, all mamamilk) gurgling and determinedly wiggling off his socks.

Not pictured: the two-year-old (cheese stick, applesauce, noodles, chicken nuggets, strawberries) screaming I a monkey OOH OOH AH AH, Mommy! from a crouched jump behind the bushes that line the sidewalk.

Not pictured: the four-year-old (noodles, clementine segmented and sanitized of strings, cheese squares and crackers, applesauce, chicken nuggets) lamenting why can't you find me a caterpillar like A's daddy found her a caterpillar?

Not pictured: the thought bubbles of all the other dropping-off parents, that in a school whose current enrollment is under 40, we're a veritable traveling circus coming up the walk.

And if they think that, they're right. And I love it.

You are such a sweet Mama. How has the transition back to work been? Hope you have a good place to pump...

I'll find her a caterpillar. That was my specialty when I was younger. Would you like it shipped? hehehe

With Katherine, it's rolly polies. When I was a kid, it seemed like the world was literally *crawling* with roly polies. But now? Not so much. We've only found two (TWO!) in the past year, and we live in the country!

I love this picture and this description, and the way you see life like art.

Such a perfect picture in my mind of your travelling circus. I have one of those too. The daily comments of "you must be busy" with recoil and the occasional knowing smile are proof positive.
