Still life with ice cream cone and suspense

Behold, the basketball net.

Two days past my due date and six days past when my doctor hoped she'd convinced this baby to be born.

30 inches of snow.

Approaching 29 hours since we had electricity.

Indoor temperature in the 40s.

Outdoor temperature in the 'teens.

No baby yet.

And nary a plow in sight.

(But we're awesome survivalists.)

Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. Tock................ Pin It

Oh Robin. 30 inches?! 40 degrees INSIDE?! I'm sending my warmest thoughts your way. If only that meant something...

Oh my! You (and our many friends and family in the DC Metro area) are in my thoughts!

Again I have to say how unfair all this is. I live in NJ, right outside of NYC and we didn't even get a single snowflake. You need to move here. And you need to have that baby - soon! Stay warm and I hope the electricity comes back on today.

What an adventure! Take good care, sweetie!

I'm sending positive - no labor until the snow plow comes through - hopes for electricity to be restored vibes your way.

We went a week without power in 2008, but it was in September and I was only 7 months pregnant. Can't even compare with what it must be like in your snowed in compound.

We've been without internet access for a few days and I've been desperate to find out if you had your baby. Now, here I am, catching up on the snowstorm saga and the suspense is only building. After you guys are all settled again, you should sell the rights to this story. It would make a great miniseries!

On an equally excited note (I'm sure) I gave you a blog award today!
