Because you would like me to talk about my feelings, Todd Parr, this one's for you

Ah, Todd Parr, affirmer/illustrator extraordinaire. Todd, my girls love your books. It's the bright colors and the silly thoughts: pizza toppings for earrings? Taking meals in the tub? Underpants in the freezer?

Awesome.

Todd tells kids to be accepting of others; to love themselves; to talk about their feelings.

Todd, let's talk about my feelings.

Todd, you're killing me slowly.

This is how the one-year-old and I read The Feelings Book:

[Page one. She flips the page to the right.]
[So far, so good.]

[Page two.]
Oh, no!! Usshide DOWN!!

[She flips the book over.]

[She turns the page to the right.]

[Which brings us back to page one.
An upside-down page one.]

Oh, no!! Usshide DOWN!!

[She flips the book over.
She turns the page to the right.
Hello, you unacceptable page two.]

[Page two.]

Oh, no!! Usshide DOWN!!

It takes A Lot of convincing to break the cycle. Todd, I'm just not sure page three is worth this.

Is there not yet enough drool on those particular pages to glue them together?!
