It's been a long, long, long sick day.
We saw the pediatrician in the morning, dropped off E's two prescriptions at the pharmacy, went home for a nap, and went out to pick up the prescriptions. So E got her first medicine around 5 this evening. The steroid was compounded with some fruity syrup to make it not so disgusting. It smelled like Luden's cough drops to me but she loved it. Of course, that's the one that she only takes two times, total.
Then we opened the amoxycillin for the first of 20 doses she'll be taking. She almost gagged on the first swallow. As its scent hit my nose, I almost gagged with her. That's the same chalky, faux-strawberry amoxycillin of my childhood ear infection days. Has medicine flavoring not improved at all in almost 30 years?
And don't we have an ugly kitchen floor? And don't I have a weirdly shaped thumb?
Nineteen doses to go.
